Important Notes From the HYC Volunteer Coordinator, Liza Moore

This past year a group met to review the system and we’ve made what we hope are improvements.

The sign up for volunteer hours now exists under the members only page, which you need to log into, and volunteer opportunities are now posted under relevant committees (ie for Float-In look under Waterfront or open-and-close look under House).

All volunteer opportunities are posted through the HYC Volunteer page. Our aim was to have all the jobs of the season listed at the beginning of the season. Thanks to all the committee chairs who helped make this happen, and Peg Selian. Check out the page to see how you can help out this season.

For reporting your volunteer hours – 15 for a family/ couple, 8 for an individual:

There is a link on the Volunteer page to a simple form for submitting your time. (Please report your hours in a timely manner. Thanks!)

For jobs that have a pre-set # of hours (ie House Open/Close at 10hrs), you don’t need to submit; it will collect your hours from the Sign-Up Genius page. However you may use the link to submit your time, especially if you have any comments to share.

Similarly, for activities where you sign-in during the event (ie Float In and Float out), I will collect your hours from the timesheets but again, use the link if you have any comments to share.
