    Nathan Selian

    Sailing Program Director
Hey there HYC Family and Friends! My name is Nathan Selian and I am thrilled to be returning to HYC as director for the 2025 season. I’ve been cruising the beautiful Maine coast with my family since I was five days old, but my passion for sailing truthfully started when I first enrolled in HYC’s Youth Sailing Program. Starting as a Recruit and ending on the 420 Race Team, I worked my way up through many of the program’s classes developing a love for sailing and creating many lifelong friendships along the way. In High School, I sailed for the Southern Maine HS Sailing Team where I had the honor of serving as Captain. Currently, I’m a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at Boston University and a member of the BU Dinghy Sailing Team.

I am looking forward to another fun-filled summer as well as meeting many new and returning faces!

    Eleanor Donahue

    Head Instructor
Hi HYC families! My name is Eleanor Donahue, I am from Yarmouth, ME, and I’m so excited to spend this summer coaching at HYC. I grew up cruising the coast of Maine with my family and then started sailing Optis at Centerboard Yacht Club when I was 8 years old. I eventually started spending the summers at SailMaine where I went through the whole junior sailing program. I coached Optis at SailMaine for four summers (2018 to 2021). I was also on the Yarmouth High School sailing team for four years and did a brief stint on the Bowdoin Sailing team as well.

I’ve spent the past 3 summers interning in the alternative energy industry and sailing when I can. I’m graduating from Bowdoin College this spring and am so excited to spend another summer on the water before heading to Boston in the fall!

    Mira Broussard

Hi! My name’s Mira and I’m super excited to be coaching at HYC again this summer. This will be my third season instructing and I grew up sailing here from recruits all the way to race team.

Currently. I also race on the Southern Maine high school team, I sail a number of different boats, and I plan to sail next year in college. I’m so stoked to meet you all and have another summer full of sailing and fun!!

    Olivier Garcia

Hello, my name is Olivier Garcia, and I am excited to come back to HYC for the 2025 season. I have been a part of this program for the past 8 years and raced with HYC for 3 years. I was also a member of the Yarmouth High School team, where I raced for 4 years and was a captain for two seasons. Last year, I coached the Recruits group and the Opti Green group, and I hope to see many returning campers this summer. I am very excited about what the summer will bring and hope to make it as memorable as possible.

    Johnny Marcoux

Hi, I am Johnny and my passion for sailing began in 2018 when I had the opportunity to attend the HYC Summer Sailing Program as a camper through a scholarship. From that first summer, I was hooked—and it quickly became something I looked forward to each year.

I’m currently a student at Freeport High School, heading into my junior year this Fall. In addition to sailing with HYC, I’ve also been part of Sail Maine’s Southern Maine team, which has helped me grow both on the water and as a teammate.

This will be my second summer working for the HYC Sailing Program, and I’m excited to be part of a team that has given me so much over the years. I’m passionate about building interest in sailing within our community and enjoy helping others learn the basics of the sport I love.

    Finn Marianski

Hi, I am Finn Marianski! I’m excited to be back at Harraseeket Yacht Club this summer as a Junior Instructor. I started as a Guppy and grew up through the HYC program, developing a real love for sailing along the way. I also sail for my high school team, which has been a great way to keep sailing during the school year. I’m going into my senior year at Yarmouth High School, where I participate in Track, Skiing, and Cross Country. Outside of sports, I enjoy playing music and coaching younger athletes and sailors. I’m looking forward to another awesome summer on the water, helping kids build confidence, skills, and a love for sailing—just as I did.

    Farley Ordway

Hi, I am Farley Ordway. I grew up in Freeport, Maine, and I am currently a student at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. I grew up in the HYC sailing program, starting as a Guppy, and working my way up to the 420 Race Team. I have always loved the ocean and being on the water. I discovered regattas and started racing in 2021, which only furthered my love for the sport. When I am not sailing in the summers, I am outside and enjoying all that the outdoors has to offer, which includes ski racing, running, and more! I have volunteered at HYC previously, and I am very excited to further my experiences at HYC as a Junior Instructor this summer!

I look forward to meeting all of you and helping you in any way possible!

    Cole Bowen

Hi, I am Cole Bowen, and I have grown up on the water in Freeport. I started in Recruits and worked my way up to the 420 Race team. I participated in many regattas, and I won both the Green Fleet and later the Blue Fleet at HYC Junior Regattas as an Opti racer. Also, I participate in the Wednesday night races at the yacht club on a J24. Since I have outgrown being a racer in smaller boats, I chose to instruct students in the Sailing Program. I was a Junior Instructor last year and am excited to be working at HYC this upcoming summer.

    James Hartnett

Hello HYC, I’m James Hartnett, and I’m super excited to be returning to HYC for my eighth summer in a row, and my third as a junior instructor. I’ve been cruising around the Harraseeket River and Casco Bay since I was eight and have made my way up from Recruits, to Opti and 420 Race Teams. The last two summers, I’ve taught as a Junior Instructor. Each year, I’ve gained valuable new experiences, friends, and of course, a love of sailing. Every year, I look forward to the eight weeks that the sailing program runs, and I’m very excited to get back on the water this summer.

When I’m not sailing at HYC, you’ll find me playing soccer or tennis for Yarmouth High School where I’m a sophomore. Can’t wait to see you on the water!
