Hi everyone! My name is Alice Donahue and I am thrilled to be returning to HYC as director for the 2026 season. I am from Yarmouth, ME and I grew up cruising the coast of Maine with my family and then started sailing Optis at Centerboard Yacht Club when I was 8 years old. I have been coaching at HYC since 2023 and so excited to be returning this summer as the Program Director. I just graduated from Colorado College where I studied International Political Economy. I am looking forward to another incredible summer with you all out on Casco Bay!
Hi everyone!! My name’s Mira, I’m so excited to be back for my fourth summer coaching at HYC, as the 420 race coach this year! I’m from Brunswick, ME. I grew up sailing here from recruits through to the race team and I am so happy to share my love for sailing and this club. I’m a rising sophomore at the University of Vermont this year studying Neuroscience and Plant Biology where I also am my class captain on the UVM Sailing team and enjoy traveling across New England and the country for competitive regattas! I can’t wait to see you all this summer for another amazing year!
Hi all! I’m James Hartnett and I’m very excited to be returning for my eighth summer sailing at HYC, and fourth as an instructor. I’ve grown up through the program going from a recruit to opti and 420 race teams to now coaching and mentoring. To me there’s no feeling like a warm summer day cruising around Casco Bay. I just finished my junior year at Yarmouth High School where I ran cross country and played tennis. Can’t wait to see you on the water!
Hi everyone! My name is Finn Marianski, and I’m excited to be back at HYC this summer. I’m from Yarmouth, ME and have been sailing at HYC since I was a Guppie! Sailing has been a huge part of my life ever since then. I’ll be attending Dartmouth College next fall, where I plan to study engineering while staying connected to the outdoors. I’m really looking forward to another great summer of sailing with everyone!
Hi everyone! I am Farley Ordway, and I am so excited to be joining the YSP staff as the Opti Race Team and the Recruits coach! I grew up in South Freeport, sailing at the HYC starting as a Guppy, later progressing through both the Opti and 420 race teams. I am rising Senior at Gould Academy, where I am a captain of the varsity soccer and lacrosse teams. In the winter months I ski competitively around North America. I am so very excited to get to meet this year’s Opti Race Team helping everyone learn, improve, and have a great summer on the water!
Hello! My name is Fergus Tan, and I am so happy to be working at HYC this summer. I will be going into my senior year at Greely High School. This is my first summer at HYC, but I have been sailing my entire life around Casco Bay. This will be my second year coaching sailing. In addition to sailing for the Greely High School sailing team, I am also a member of the Greely Ultimate frisbee team. Outside of school and sailing you can find me playing my tuba or trombone at various music events and festivals across Maine. I can’t wait to see you all this summer out on the water!
Hi everyone! My name is Julien Barksdale and I have been doing HYC sailingfor about six years. This is my first year being a junior instructor. I am an upcoming junior at Freeport high school where I play soccer and lacrosse. I grew up in Freeport and have spent my whole life on boats. I look forward to working with all of you and to get out on the water!
Hi everyone! My name is Eva Goldman, and I’m from Yarmouth. I am a rising junior at Yarmouth High School where I sail for our school sailing team through SailMaine and play ice hockey in the winter. This will be my first year at HYC as a junior instructor. I’m so excited to join all of you at HYC for a great summer on the water!
Hi everyone! My name is Skylar Haugen, and I am from North Yarmouth, Maine. I’m very excited to be at HYC for the 2026 summer. I learned to sail here at HYC and fell in love with the sport. I just finished my sophomore year at Greely High School, where I sail for my high school team and Nordic ski in the winter. I’m really looking forward to spending the summer on the water, sailing with everyone and having fun!
